Blogmas 2017 day 24 & 25 Last day of Blogmas - Christmas Eve & Christnas day

Hello, and welcome back.
Christmas Eve was on a Sunday this year, so that meant we had regular church in the morning and then the Christmas service in the evening. In the service in the morning, the Sunday school classes did a Christmas play. there was also lots of Christmas song.  After church was over we went out to Stella's to eat lunch. I had a candy cane mocha, and a sandwich with the house salad. it was good, but there was so much food I couldn't finish it all. I took it home. when I got home I went to watch Disney A Christmas carol. I finished watching A Christmas carol. and it was time to go back to church. In the evening it was mainly singing. We has a young adult choir, and then the congregation would sing some songs.
 We went to our friends house after to eat some good food, and play games. First we ate food and talked, then we played games. we played Jungle speed, Pictionary telephone, and mad gab. We played games for awhile. by the time we finished games, it was late so we went home. when I got home I went straight to bed.

December 25th 2017
Its Christmas day!! woo-hoo
Merry Christmas!
This morning I woe up early because I wasn't feeling that good. I thought maybe I was really hungry, so I went downstairs to get a snack. I don't think that was the case, but I don't know what was going on. I waited for the others to get up. Everyone was up and we started opening presents, first it was presents for me and my sisters from my parents. I went first. I started opening it and then my mom took a closer look at the box, and realised that wasn't my gift. it was my dads, she then went to go get mine. my sisters opened there's, and then we gave our parents there gifts to open. we opened our stockings after, and then one more gift each. After we had brunch. it is tradition that we always have eggs Benedict and hash browns on Christmas. Breakfast was finished so I went upstairs to take a bath. I took a pretty long bath, so y the time I got out everyone was getting ready for supper. I felt a little bad that I wasn't helping, but on the other hand I wasn't feeling great, and I feel like I needed that bath to make me feel better.
 While we were waiting for the food I watched t.v and had a little nap. soon supper was ready. we had mashed potatoes, green beans, stuffing, and chicken, and brownie for dessert. we played settlers after lunch, and I won the game for once!! that Is so exciting for me because I have never won settlers, and I am not usually good at games. we cleaned up settlers and then I went to bed.

Blogmas 2017 Day 14-23 - I failed! sorry

Hello, welcome back.
so I have a confession to make, I have been forgetting to do blogmas. I have been running a couple options through my head. I could have ended off at day 13, completely skip over a number of days with no explanation, or give you an explanation post.
 In the time that I have missed there have been a few things happening. This past Friday the kids had there Christmas party, so we had Santa come visit the Daycare and all the kids got books and a candy cane.  When we have parties the kids are each suppose to bring in something, so we had a lot of food for lunch. Another thing that happened was we finally decorated our tree.

 

A couple other things that have happened were, I finished Christmas shopping and wrapped all my presents. I also decorated all the left over gingerbread I had, with my sisters help.
  That's pretty much all that happened between my last blog and now. I am sorry that I forgot and skipped a couple days. I will be back for new years eve and maybe even Christmas. This makes me feel so annoyed that I forgot to write! anyways I hope you have enjoyed blogmas so far.

Blogmas 2017 day 13 - christmas concert & christmas favourites

Hello, we are getting closer to Christmas who's exited, who's ready?
Today Is my volunteer day. my Day with the cheetahs. I got to work and was in the shark room until the shark, cheetahs, and monkeys went into there own rooms. I went into the kitchen to get the dishes done as fast as I could, because I was going with the cheetahs to the Christmas concert dress rehearsal. the concert was about an hour & 1/2, when we got back I needed to make bannock before my lunch. We didn't have baking powder, so I looked up what to do. I used baking soda and vinegar.I heat up the lunches and then went to have my lunch. After my lunch I spent some time reading with the sharks. after nap time was over I too the snack tray over to the babies. for snack was pretzels and smoothie. The monkeys always love the smoothie, some of them have at least four cups, and they just chug it! Snack was over, so we go them dressed to go outside.
  the plan was for me to stay at school with my mom and watch the concert, but my mom needed to go home to fix a playlist so I went home with her. I left a little early. this also meant that because I already say the concert in the morning, I stayed home.
I made myself supper, and watched TV. then I wrote. after I went to bed.

Blogmas 2017 day 12 - Christmas Q & A

Hello, welcome back.
today was a boring day, so instead of talking about my day I thought I would do a Christmassy Q & A. I got these questions from a blog called Me & b make tea.

What's your favourite Christmas movie?
My favourite Christmas movie often changes. for awhile it was the first Home Alone, but last year I discovered Arthur Christmas.

Have you ever had a white Christmas?
Yes, I have always had a white Christmas here in Manitoba.

What is your favourite Christmas song?
this question is so hard because I have so many favourite songs. One of my favourite right now is white Christmas by pentatonix, I also like Hallelujah by the pentatonix. although its not really a Christmas song, it is on there Christmas album.

Do you open presents on Christmas Eve?
No I do not open any presents on Christmas eve. I have heard of people opening one gift on Christmas Eve, like pajamas or something but that would just feel wrong.

Can you name all of Santa's reindeers?
There's Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Commet, Cupid, Donnor, Blitzen, and Rudolph. So I wrote down what I remembered, and then I was curios to see who I missed. I missed vixen.

What holiday traditions are you looking forward to this year?
I  always look forward to our breakfast. I call it our Christmas breakfast because we only make it on Christmas. we have eggs benedict with hash browns. Another tradition I look forward to that we have already done this year, is going to cut down our tree. as of about 2 years ago our whole family goes to cut down our tree, and then we make a fire and roast hot dogs, and have hot chocolate.
it always so good, and it makes it better that we don't have it often.  I also love our Christmas Eve tradition. we would go to the church service in the evening, and then go to our friends place after to play games and eat snacks.

Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
Always a real tree. as of 2 years ago I think, our whole family has gone to a area where we can cut our own tree down.

What is your all time favourite Holiday treat/snack/sweet?
If you know me then you will know I love my sweets! I think my top favourite is gingerbread cookies, I also love peppermint cookies. its so hard for me to choose.

Be honest, do like giving or receiving presents?
I like giving presents because I like to see the look on peoples faces when hey open it, and I am kind of awkward when opening presents.

What would be your dream place to visit during the holiday season?
I would like to visit London because from the pictures I have seen, it looks so festive and colourful.

Are you a pro present wrapper or do you fail?
I am terrible at wrapping presents, but I do try my best.

Blogmas 2017 day 10 & 11 - church + snowday

Hello everyone. I didn't do a whole lot today so I am going to put today and tomorrow together.
 Sunday December 10th
Today I got up to go to church. We got there early because my dad had to usher. me and my sister didn't have to teach, so we sat in the van for a little bit before going in.
 After church we needed to do some errands. First we were hungry so we got lunch first. we went to the mall to eat because we needed to buy my mom a birthday present. next we went to pick up some stuff, then grocery shopping. we also stop at Starbucks before going home. I got my favourite holiday drink, the gingerbread latte. my first gingerbread latte of the season. When I got home I help unload the groceries, then I watched some TV.  It was getting close to supper time. we decided to have Faspa, buns with meat, cheese, tomatoes, and pickles. I had leftover cake for dessert, and then I made my lunch and then went to bed.
 Sorry its a little short but on Sunday I don't do much. it more of a lazy day after we come home from church.

 Monday December 11th
This morning I woke up to a phone call, it was a snow day. I went back upstairs after, I tried to go back to sleep nut it didn't happen. I went on my phone until I got up to have breakfast. After breakfast I caught up on my writing. again it was more of a lazy day. I later went to Zumba. we had the different instructor again, because our regular instructor was still away on holiday. since its so close to Christmas we had some Christmas music along with our regular songs.  there was this one song that half way through made my legs burn. Zumba was over so we went home and I had a shower. I didn't have to make my lunch because I don't work tomorrow.

Blogmas 2017 Day 9 - Christmas tree chopping

Hello,  Welcome back!
Today we went to go shop down our Christmas tree. I got up and got a few layers on, and went down stairs. I couldn't find my snow pants. I bought them last year, but I cant remember what they looked like. I wore my moms old snow pants instead. I got all my stuff on and then I was ready to go.
 We drove to the tree cutting area.

After hours of looking we found one. It took awhile because there wasn't very many good ones. its a little skinny and sparse, but it nice. after we cut the tree down, we took it to the van. The tree was on top of the van, then we got our lunch stuff out..

We made a fire and roasted hot dogs, and had hot chocolate. It was getting cold and late, so we packed up and headed back to the van, and headed home.

when we got home it was late. I went upstairs to write. It was my sisters birthday yesterday, so we had a late birthday dinner for her. We had steak, fries, salad and carrots. For dessert my other sister had made a chocolate cake with chocolate icing that we ate while watching Mary Poppins.  I had a shower after, then went to bed.

Blogmas 2017 day 8 - work & Christmas party

Hello, welcome back to another day of blogmas.
Today at work I volunteered in the morning and started in ratio at 12:00. in the morning I started off in the shark room, we didn't have a lot of kids, so I went to go see what the Monkey's were doing. they were making guacamole. the kids were into it at first, they were smelling things, helping, and one boy even tried a lime. he liked it, he kept coming back for more. After the guacamole was finished, it was time for them to have lunch, so I brought over there lunch tray.  I went back over to the shark room to do heat ups for there lunch. They finished there lunch, and then it was time for the nappers to go nap. since there wasn't many nappers, we sent them to the monkey room to nap. the kids that were not napping had the whole room to play in and not just the library area.
 At 1:00 I went to be with the cheetahs for an hour. there was music on, some where dancing, and some kids were playing. The first song that was put on was Thunder by Imagine Dragons, and Believer also by Imagine Dragons. these are the only two songs that the kids asked to play. after we played them a couple times we switched to Christmas music.
 I went back into the shark room. some of the kids were playing with a mixture of flour and baby oil, it was almost like the feeling of sand.
 After I took my break I served snack. snack was cheese & pepper quesadillas. Not a lot of sharks or cheetahs had snack so we had a lot left over. I Put away snack and finished cleaning the kitchen. I finished cleaning the kitchen and then I played with the kids until it was time to go.
  I was getting a ride to the party with a co-worker. I got off at 5:15 and she got off at 5:30, so I had to wait for her.
I got to the party, and we were waiting for the others to arrive. once everyone was here we ate pizza. there was a lot of pizza, and a lot of food. we finished eating then we played a game. this game was called million dollars, but. its kind of like cards against humanity in the way that you have to sets of card to create a scenario, and you have a judge. you basically have to choose one that you would not do for a million dollars. We ate some cake and cookies after, and played another game. the game was called code name. we chatted for awhile before my sister came to pick me up.
when I got home I was tired, and it was late so I went to bed.

Blogmas 2017 day 7 - decorating cookies & dance

Hello welcome to another day of blogmas.
17 days until Christmas!!
Today I woke up early, but I didn’t work today. I ate breakfast and then made icing for my cookies, then decorate them. decorating took me a long time, about 2 1/2 hours. These are some of my favourite ones that I decorated.

After I finished the cookies it was late.
 My dad told me I should think of something to make for supper the night before, so I wouldn't have to scramble for what to make for supper. I forgot to do that, so when it was time to make supper I had no idea what to make. it took me a while. I was thinking vegetarian chili, but I couldn't find my recipe. instead I found my recipe for chili pasta bake. I made this with a few modifications.
I didn't have much time because I needed to go dance.
 I took my food and then went to dance. first class Is a little kids creative class that I help my instructor with. This class is always so crazy. Next there is a class where I just watch, then its my class. right now I have one dance that I have finished. its a modern contemporary dance, and the song I am using is River by Bishop Briggs. I am done my dance, so I ran through it a couple times, and then my dance teacher taught me some combinations that I could do. class was over so I went home. When I got home I made my lunch and then went to bed.

Blogmas 2017 day 6 - day with the Monkeys & Kitchen day

Hello, welcome to day 6!

Today at work is my volunteer day, or as I call it “Kitchen day” because I spend a lot of my time in the kitchen.  In the morning when I got to work I spent time in the main room with everybody until they split into there groups. After everyone was settled in there rooms, I went into the kitchen. I got a head start on the dishes, then made bannock.  I finished making bannock and the. I finished the dishes. I moved on to making the smoothie popsicles next and put them in the freezer.  Every other Wednesday we have cookies for snack. Some times there are cookies already made in the fridge, sometimes there’s not. If there wasn’t I would make some. The cookies were already for today, the last thing I had to do was set up the trays for lunch.  

  I went into the monkey room to play with the kids. They were cleaning up and getting ready for lunch. I helped with lunch. After lunch it was nap time for the monkeys. I went to the shark room to do there heat ups. After I finished setting up there lunch, I took my lunch. After my lunch was over I played with the sharks, and read books. 

The monkeys nap was over so I went back into there room to play with them some more until snack. Snack was cookies and apples. Snack was over and we went back to playing. They also did a craft. It. Was two mittens cut out of construction paper, and then they glued yarn into there mittens. This craft took a while, by the time they were all done it was time for me to go home. 

  When I got home I was tired. I went to go sit and watch tv for a bit.  I then needed to come up with something for supper, nothing was coming to me. My mom suggested philly cheese steak sandwiches and fries. I finished supper, and then cut out my cookies. I bought some new cookies cutters, I have a mitten, snowman, Christmas sweater, gingerbread man, a Christmas tree, and a Mickey Mouse one that my friend let me borrow. I finished baking them and put them away, and then I went to bed to write and then go to bed.

Blogmas 2017 day 5 - Writing & baking gingerbread

Hello everyone,
Welcome back to another day of blogmas!
I didn’t work today so I slept in a little bit. I went downstairs to have breakfast and watch some vlogmas. I was finished breakfast, so I went upstairs to get changed. I then got my laptop set up to write and put my head phones in to listen to music. I worked on my travel blog, this one has taken me a long time to finish because I need to get all the pictures, and there’s a lot of writing. I was having some trouble with getting the pictures lined up. This took me a while, so I decided to wait until the end to focus more on my photos, but I haven’t finished it yet. After writing for awhile, I took a break to make grilled cheese for lunch. As I ate my lunch I continued to listen to music. Right now I am really liking Niall Horan’s new album Flicker! I continued to write some more after lunch.
      It was getting close to supper time, and I was going to make supper. The problem I have with making supper, is figuring out what to make. I usually say to my family members you come up with the idea and I’ll make it. Eventually my dad came up with making the potato casserole. This usually make on the individually on the  barbecue with potatoes, carrots, onions, mushrooms, seasoning salt, tomatoes soup, and Ketchup. This  time we made on casserole in the oven. It was still delicious. We finished supper and I cleaned out the dish washer, then made gingerbread cookies. After I made my gingerbread cookies I made my lunch, write and then went to bed.

Blogmas 2017 day 4 - work & zumba

Hello everyone.
Happy Monday, welcome back.
There is only 20 day until Christmas!
 Today I woke up at 7:00 to go to work. today is my volunteer day, so that means that I do the morning snack dishes and set up the trays for lunch. also occasionally make snack. today for snack I made trail mix with pretzels, crasins, chocolate chips and corn flacks. I finished in the kitchen, and then I went to the monkey room to play with the babies. my boss came in and asked if I could cover someone who went home sick, I was covering in the cheetah room. We played for a bit, and then it was time to clean up for lunch. All the kids went to sit for circle time while I got the tables and heat ups ready for lunch. Everyday after the kids finish lunch they go to the library to read a book while they wait for everyone to finish. we then moved to the computer to watch a short movie about Elf on the shelf.  We have an elf on the shelf, but some touched it! (oh-no) we had to read the book and watch the movie in hopes that our elf might get its magic back. The kids went to go put there lunch kits away and get dressed for outside. I went on my lunch break. After my break I put my outdoor stuff on and headed outside. I wasn't out for very long, because one of the girls had slipped on the ice and feel. I had to go inside and get her an ice pack and write a report. by the time I finished it the kids were coming inside.
We all got undressed and then played some more, and jumped on the trampoline until it was time to clean up and head to main room. I went with another staff to go and get the kinders, and wait for the school ager's. when we had everybody we went into the room to have snack and play. A lot of the school ager's were playing card games, some were making forts. we all watched that same elf on the shelf movie that we watched with the cheetahs. it was then time for me to go.
   when I got home I ate left over pizza, because I wanted to eat something quick before I went to Zumba. today In Zumba we had another Instructor, because are regular one is on holiday. I have done Zumba with this instructor before, so I know some of the songs she does. the different thing. or the harder thing with a different instructor is that they do some of the same song, but they do it completely differently, or slightly change it. there were some song that our regular instructor does, but it was different in my head I was thinking of the normal one I do, while I was doing the new one. if that makes sense.  Zumba was finished so we went home. I had a shower, and had ice cream. I wrote and watched a bit of YouTube before bed.

Blogmas 2017 Day 2 & 3- cupcake making + bake sale

Blogmas day 2
Hello, welcome back to another day of blogmas.
How is everyone doing today?
This morning I got up and went downstairs to eat some honey nut cheerios, after I finished my breakfast I went to go sit by the fire for a little bit. I got up after sitting by the fire to make chocolate cupcakes for the bake sale. I found the recipe on Pinterest. this was a quick and easy recipe to make.
by the time I finished baking the cupcakes, it was lunch time. for lunch I eat leftover Chinese. my sister helped me make labels for my baking, when that was finished I tried to help her come up with craft ideas for Sunday school. I am not creative, so I wasn't that helpful.
 I made my icing in the evening, I made it later than I planned on. I bought some new piping tips, so I tried out those. I really like the look of them. I finally finished decorating, and cleaned up. I went to bed.

 So I am not off to a very good start to blogmas. It is only day 2 and I forgot to finish. so I am combining day 2 & 3 in one.

 Blogmas day 3
Hello, welcome back to blogmas days.
this morning I got up and got ready for church, I packed up all my baking and went to church. when I got to church, I went downstairs to unload my baking and put it with the rest of the goodies. I went to go up to help with Sunday school. I went to go check on how the bake sale was gong. all the pretzel hugs were gone, most of my cupcakes were gone, and some of my ginger snaps were gone.
After church I went out for lunch at Boston pizza. Then after lunch we had to go grocery shopping, and some shopping.
We got home and unloaded the grocery's. I went to write and watch T.V. for supper we had soup and egg salad sandwiches. I watched Home alone, and then went to bed. before falling asleep I listened to a podcast called "pretending to be batman helps kids focus" from brain stuff, and another one called "cake: so great, so so Great" from stuff you should know.  I went to sleep after that.

Blogmas 2017 day 1 - first day!

hello, welcome to another year of blogmas. I hope you are as excited to read it as I am to write it!
 Good morning, happy first day of December, and the first day of blogmas.
this morning I woke up and got dressed to go to work.  I was tired and I didn't want to get out of my warm bed.
Today was parent teacher, and an in service day at the school. that means we have two groups of kids in one room, (the sharks, and the cheetahs.) and the school ager's in the other room for the whole day. These day are always the busiest. I was volunteering in the with the monkeys (toddlers) in the morning, because I knew I would be with the sharks in the afternoon when I went into ratio. I went to get some different books for the monkeys, so I took all there old book and took them to the shed. I thought that they said the books were on the left in the back. I looked there in the shed, I could find any books. there so many things in the shed, it took me a while to find books. they wanted wintery/ Christmas books. I finally found some books, I don't think it was what they were talking about because there was just a little stack. I was about to go in and get help, then I turned around and found a lot of book on the right when I walked in. I looked at the books, and I didn't look through all the books, but I only found one Christmassy one. I grabbed a bunch and then went back to the monkey room to put them on there book shelf.
 there was a hot lunch for the kids. it was grilled cheese, tomato soup, and these zucchini chips. I helped the babies with lunch, and then brought the nap beds to the monkey room. After I finished this I went to the shark room to help with lunch. This hot lunch was not as stressful as most hot lunch days. The past hot lunches were wraps, which has a tortilla wrap, meat, cheese, veggies, and a salad. with this meal we have all the staff running around giving the kids the food. its really crazy! this meal was chill. lunch was over, and I cleaned up the tables. I played with the sharks while the cheetahs ate there lunch. after we played with toys of a bit, we all cleaned up and sat down on the carpet. some kids went outside, and some stayed in. the ones who were going outside went to go get ready, the ones who stayed inside went to go play. I stayed inside with another staff. once everyone got outside and settled, I went into the kitchen to finish off the dishes. I played with the kids some more until i0 went home.
  I got home and then we needed to clean, cause we had people coming over to watch the jest game.
my mom was planning on making pizza, then we got half way home and then she said why don't we just order Chinese instead, so we don't have to make anything. we went to the lake trail restaurant to order.
after I ate I put my pretzel hugs, and ginger snaps into bags for the bake sale at my church. I finished and then I wrote, and watched Juno.
I went to bed after I finished writing.
